Rena Sherel SOFER
Rena Sherel Sfer is an American actor
from America. She is well-known for her performances on American daytime
television, as well as episodic guest appearances and made-for-television
films. In 1995, Sofer received a Daytime Emmy Award for her performance of Lois
Cerullo in the soap show General Hospital. Since 2013, she has been playing
Quinn Fuller on the CBS soap show The Bold and The Beautiful. Sofer was the
daughter of Susan Sofer (a psychologist professor) and Martin Sofer (a
Conservative rabbi). Her family then moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, until
the time of the divorce of her parents] she moved with her brother and father
David to Teaneck, New Jersey, in 1970. They resided in Western Pennsylvania
when Sofer was five years old. Their family lived in Ambridge Pennsylvania
where their father was director of Beth Samuels Jewish Center. She was a
student at the Frisch School, an coeducational Mordern Orthodox Jewish
highschool in Paramus (New Jersey). Sofer resided in North Bergen, New Jersey
which was where her father served as Rabbi of the synagogue Temple Beth El. She
completed her studies at North Bergen High School, later attending classes at
Montclair State College. Sofer appeared as Lois Marie Cerullo for the first
time on General Hospital. Her first appearance came in 1993, as a band manager.
However, her first high-profile part was that of Rocky McKenzie on the daytime
soap series Loving (1988-91). Most well-known is her part in General Hospital
as Lois Cerullo (December 15, 1993 – September 24 1996). She was later
guest-starring on the show (February 7-17, 1997; September 30th - October 2nd ,
1997). Sofer was presented with an Daytime Emmy Award 1995 for Outstanding
Supporting Artistress in a Drama Series for her portrayal as Lois. In May 2013
it was announced that Sofer was set to join the CBS soap drama The Bold and the
Beautiful with a brand new character called Quinn Fuller; her first episode
aired on July 12. Sofer has appeared as a guest actor or guest in a number of
prime-time television showslike Seinfeld and Melrose Place. She also appeared
on The Chronicle, Ed and Friends. The premiere episode aired on July 12.
