Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston) who was the national director of Mary Kay, and Freddie
Wright, a pharmaceutical executive. Her home was San Diego, California. She
started her professional career as a model in the year 1980 when she was 14
years old, and worked both in Paris as well as Japan. After high school, she
made the choice to become an actress. She was cast on the soap show Santa
Barbara (1984), for which she was nominated three times for a Daytime Emmy.
During the first season of the show, she became a fan of fellow cast member
Dane Witherspoon, whom she married in 1986. She starred in the show as the
princess bride (1987) in the title role. She was chosen to play Santa Barbara
but left to star in Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. It was during State of
Grace (1990) and became acquainted with Sean Penn. They had a daughter Dylan
Frances and a son Hopper Jack. After a short break, Robin was back to Hollywood
and landed one of her most memorable role of her career: She was Tara in The
Playboys (1992). She was a stunning actress , and a phenomenal actor. In the
following film, she played Toys (1992) alongside Robin Williams, and she gave a
funny performance. Wright was in the blockbuster hit Forrest Gump (1994),
co-starring with Tom Hanks. In recognition of her performance as Jenny she
earned her a nomination for a Golden Globe Award. She was offered a small part
in The Crossing Guard (1995) along with Jack Nicholson. After she turned down
14 roles she was offered the lead part in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). It was
directed by Pen Densham and featured Morgan Freeman, Stockard Channing, and
Morgan Freeman. Alongside William Hurt, she was later in Erin's Loved (1997).
